Why our Roadmaps?

Everyday we are asked by our customers whether they should replace their boiler now and install an air source heat pump. Often their existing boiler is not actually that old, but they have been told its nearing its end of life and not worth repairing.

Most homes are not ready for an air source heat pump yet, but they do not need to change their boilers either. Our expectation for a condensing boiler is for it to last between 15-20 years and by carrying out a review and recommending some simple works, customers can improve the efficiency of their boiler by 10-25%. 

Our Roadmaps are designed to reduce energy consumption for all households straight away without having to wait for a heat pump to start achieving this. By extending the life of an existing boiler, it also gives us an opportunity to get the home ready for a heat pump in the future.

Our Mini Roadmap will recommend some simple works to extend your boiler's lifespan and improve its efficiency by 10-25%. Our Full Roadmap also provides the next steps in the journey to be ready for an air source heat pump, reducing gas use at every step of the way.

Condensing gas boilers are not A-rated out of the box, studies have found them to be B-E rated in the home. In real terms that means nearly all gas heating systems can be 10-25% more efficient.
